Teepee
Pack Trip
The Teepee Pack Trip is the ultimate
experience for you. On
your first day at the ranch the horses are allocated and on your first
ride you
will get to know the steadiness of the Tennessee Walker horses. The
next day we
leave the ranch with the packhorses and, depending on the weather,
crossing Big
Creek is certainly the first challenge for many. On the third day we
reach our
base camp in the heart of Big
Creek Provincial
Park. In the
following days we explore the park from here on horseback: Lorna Lake –
a
wonderful glacier lake and source of Big Creek; the Dil Dil Plateau – a
2000
meter high plateau with a fantastic view; Graveyard Valley – the holy
place of the
Chilcotin Indians with old Indian graves; weather
allowing the Tyoax or Ellbow Pass – high passes of
over 2200
meters. During a day’s rest for the horses we explore on foot the
nearby
historic Cow Cabin of Gang Ranch, take photos, walk on Dash Hill or
simply
experience each day anew. If we’re lucky on this ride we’ll meet moose,
wolves,
mountain goats or even a black or grizzly bear.
